The Island Path Panama Cabanas

The Island Path Panama cabanas are high in the hills with sweeping views of both the Caribbean and the jungle.  The rooms are set on the edge of a breezy ravine, looking directly into the forest.  Because we are in the jungle, the animal and bird life we enjoy makes our place unique.  Yes, you'll see parrots and most likely, Howler monkeys.  You'll feel "out there"......... yet, you are only 1/2 mile from the ocean and town is a quick 5 minute drive.  No other accomodations in Bocas Del Toro offer the ease of getting to Bocas town, with the remote experience of the jungle as we do.

Our accommodations sleep two per cabana. With AC, full bath and a large deck overlooking the rain forest, you'll be comfortable in your rain forest home.

We are situated on a crest between a large valley that sweeps all the way to the north coast, and a deep ravine that plunges down into the rain forest and a tropical wetland.  There is always a breeze and the hill top is cooler than town.  When the surf is up, the wind carries the sound of the waves pounding the shore and reefs.

The site has been turned into a tropical garden with a small banana plantation in front and strategically planted bamboo ensuring privacy.  Hibiscus and palm trees wrap the grounds creating intimacy.

The design of the cabanas is a fusion of Asian and Latin Caribbean architecture.  The owners home complements this design as well.

Below is the view of the Caribbean and the Talamanca Mountains.  The largest mountain is Volcan Baru, Panama's highest peak.  This view is from the restaurant at the top of the hill, just above the cabanas.  The other pictures are various views all taken from the resort's property.

As you can see from the pictures below, Island Path Panama is in the midst of a primary rain forest (meaning it has never been cut) and the trees reach up into a high canopy.  Because we are at the top of the hill, you can look directly into this canopy, viewing the immense diversity of plant life that lives in the forest, as well as the parrots, birds and monkeys.
